What is Plasma Cutting?

Plasma cutting is a high-speed, precision process used to cut conductive metals like steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. It works by creating an electrical arc between the torch and the material, transforming gas into a hot plasma that melts through the metal. Ideal for both intricate and large-scale projects, plasma cutting is known for its clean, accurate cuts and versatility across various material thicknesses, making it a popular choice for industrial and fabrication applications.

What we offer

At Northern Technical Services, we provide precision CNC plasma cutting with a 2700mm x 1300mm cutting table. We cut a range of materials, including mild steel (up to 12mm), stainless steel (up to 10mm), and aluminum (up to 8mm). Whether it’s custom parts or larger projects, we ensure accurate cuts with consistent quality.

Cutting Thickness

  • Mild Steel: Up to 12mm (1/2 inch)

  • Stainless Steel: Up to 10mm (3/8 inch)

  • Aluminum: Up to 8mm (5/16 inch)
